Aleksander (Alexander) Stempkowski, my maternal grandfather, emigrated from the area in or around Ciechanow, Poland, and settled in Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. He married Maryanna Fabiszak (Fabisak), a daughter of Stanislaw Fabiszak and Adamina Stankiewicz Fabiszak.
